Vision
To develop students of strong Islamic character who embody the values of Safety, Organization, Accountability, and Respect while making a positive impact in their school, community, and beyond.
Mission
To foster strong character through the SOAR pillars of Safety, Organization, Accountability, and Respect by providing students with meaningful learning experiences, character development opportunities, and positive recognition.
Allah is Al-Jabbar, the One who restores, strengthens and repairs. This reminds students that Allah can help them overcome challenges and become stronger.
The Prophet ﷺ said: The best people are those who are most beneficial to others.
Allah is As-Saboor. He gives people time to learn, improve and return to what is right. Students learn that patience is an important part of strong character.
Allah recognises and rewards every sincere act of kindness. Students are encouraged to notice the good in others and respond with appreciation and compassion.
Allah is Al-Qayyoom, the One who sustains and maintains everything. This teaches students the importance of reliability, discipline and carrying out responsibilities properly.
Allah provides what every creation needs. Students learn that every person has strengths and responsibilities that can support the wider community.
Allah is perfect in strength, honour and authority. Students are encouraged to remain strong in their values and make honest choices.
Allah guides people forward according to His wisdom. Students learn to trust Allah, continue trying and remain hopeful during difficult moments.
Allah provides every blessing and resource. Students learn to notice these blessings, use them responsibly and show gratitude by helping others.
Allah sees and knows everything. Students are reminded to behave respectfully and make good choices, even when no other person is watching.
Allah protects and preserves His creation. Students learn that they also have a responsibility to care for people, property and the environment.
Program Overview
The SOAR Eagles Character Framework is Everest Academy’s schoolwide character education initiative designed to cultivate students of strong Islamic character through the pillars of Safety, Organization, Accountability, and Respect (SOAR). Utilizing a color-coded framework, each pillar serves as a foundation for character development and provides students with a consistent visual connection to the values being taught throughout the year.
Through monthly character themes, students are provided opportunities to learn, practice, and demonstrate positive character traits that contribute to their personal growth, academic success, relationships, and overall well-being. By integrating character education with Islamic values, the framework seeks to foster a positive school culture where students are empowered to become responsible, respectful, and contributing members of their school and community.
Program Components
Monthly SOAR Assemblies
At the beginning of each month, students will participate in a counselor-led SOAR Assembly where the monthly character theme is introduced and connected to the SOAR pillar, Allah’s Name, and Sunnah.
Separate assemblies will be held for:
- EB1 (Kindergarten–Grade 5)
- EB2 (Grades 6–12)
SOAR Student Presentations
During the middle of each month, designated classes will participate in SOAR Student Presentations to reinforce the monthly character theme.
Presentations may include role plays, artwork, speeches, poetry, discussions, videos, or other student-led activities that demonstrate understanding and application of the monthly character trait. Homeroom teachers will support and guide students in preparing their presentations while encouraging meaningful connections between the monthly character theme, Islamic values, and their experiences at school, at home, and within the community.
SOAR Student Presentations provide students with meaningful opportunities to demonstrate leadership, strengthen communication skills, build confidence in public speaking, and actively engage with the monthly character theme. Through these presentations, students are encouraged to reflect upon, model, and share the values of Safety, Organization, Accountability, and Respect with the broader school community.
SOAR Eagle Recognition
Teachers will nominate students who consistently demonstrate the monthly character theme.
Recognized students will receive:
A SOAR Eagle Certificate
Four Administrator Reward Tickets
Students are recognized for consistently demonstrating the monthly character theme through their actions, attitudes, and interactions with others. Teacher nominations are reviewed monthly, and selected students are recognized during the following month’s SOAR Assembly.
